Frequently asked

How is this different from your SERP Checker?

SERP Checker returns the live top 10 organic results — fast, minimal. SERP Overview adds two things on top: an OpenPageRank authority score on every ranking domain (so you can see whether the page ranking #1 is a DR-90 powerhouse or a DR-30 underdog you could beat), and optional highlight fields for your own domain + competitor domains (those rows get color-coded badges in the result). Use SERP Checker for a quick look; SERP Overview when you're studying the competition.

What does the OPR score mean?

OpenPageRank (OPR) is a 0-10 decimal score from openpagerank.com — a free, public proxy for Google's original PageRank algorithm. Higher = the domain has more authoritative inbound links + trust signals. Rough mapping: 0-2 = new / unknown, 3-5 = established, 6-7 = strong, 8-10 = top-tier. Different vendors use different authority scales (Ahrefs DR is 0-100, Moz DA is 0-100, DataForSEO rank is 0-1000) — OPR is the only fully-free one with unlimited API access.

Why highlight competitors and my domain?

When you're checking 'do I rank for keyword X' the answer is usually buried in the top-10 result list and finding yours visually takes time. The highlight inputs color-code matching rows: your domain gets a green badge labelled You, competitor domains get an amber badge labelled Competitor. The summary line above the results also tells you which highlight domains made the top 10 (hits) and which didn't (misses). Saves the eyeball scan.

Are these the real live Google results?

Yes. The tool calls a Google-scraping API (scrape.do primary or SerpAPI fallback) that fetches the live Google SERP for your keyword + country, parses the top 10 organic results, then enriches each row with an OpenPageRank lookup. Results are cached for 24 hours per (keyword, country) — so two people checking the same query in the same day get an instant cached response.

Why does Country matter?

Google personalises results by geography. The top 10 for 'car insurance' in the US looks very different from the UK or India. The country selector sets Google's gl (geo-location) parameter so the scrape returns the SERP a user IN that country would see. We support 10 countries (US/UK/IN/CA/AU/DE/FR/JP/BR/SG) which cover the largest English/EU/APAC markets.

Is there a paid version with more features?

Citare Pro (our paid product) extends this view across saved competitor sets, tracks SERP changes over time, and surfaces gap-keywords your competitors rank for that you don't. The free SERP Overview tool is what's needed for a single, real-time look — it stays free.
